Song History
This song has been a ongoing for many many years. The inital guitar riff comes
from an ideas tapes that I did sometime between 1990 and 1993. The 2nd section of the
guitar part was written in 1999. The rest of the music was started in 1999, when
I was using Cubasis to record with. I've been messing with it on and off since then,
in no great hurry to finish it.
It has gone through many guises since 1999, with the backing going from fully electronic to
fully orchestral and back again and even hybrid versions of it, none of which I was happy with.
Eventually, with the purchase of some decent sample libraries it all finally came together.
The title Tilly, comes from a nickname that my dad used to call my mum, I think to annoy her.
Her middle name was Matilda (hence Tilly). I suppose this is a sort of a tribute to her.
The good news is that this is an instrumental, so you don't need to worry about Chris' vocals on this one.
