Song History

This song was written late August, early September 2002 and recorded on and off between October 2002 and February 2003. It features Roger on vocals, prior to his shock departure, who had a particularly bad cold the day we made him sing it, (I wish he'd come back and re-recorded them). It is also the first track to feature Carl and Carstairs, whom between the three of them, wrote this.

In a break with the normal MIDI drums on this track, the drums are a mixture of drum loops and individual samples, that Chris and Julian threw together.

Check out the Don't Lick Larry website for more tunes from Carl, Carstairs, Roger and everything else happening with Don't Lick Larry

Lyrics

All the right moves that I've made
All the wrong turns still to take
I can't think straight (Well who can)
When all your dreams are were all you had
Hold my thumb out and hitch a ride
To the greener grass on the other side
Seems this high has passed me by
Always stuck in life's layby

All the best things in my Life
Have they really passed me by
But if I give them another try
I can't see no reason why
I can't see no reason why
All the best things in my Life

No use hanging on the lottery
No such thing as a money tree
It don't matter what you're born in to
The only one who changes things is you

All the best things in my Life
Have they really passed me by
But if I give them another try
I can't see no reason why
I can't see no reason why
All the best things in my Life

All the right moves that I've made
All the wrong turns still to take
Seems this high has passed me by
Always stuck in life's layby
