Song History
Another K-v-R competition piece, this time the
subject was "Spring is in the air". So another sub two minute song then.
I came up with the main guitar part after messing about with my acoustic, trying to play Gemma Hayes' "Back of my hand".
The acoustic was in Drop D tuning with a capo at the 8th fret, and I was just noodling about and came up with the guitar part.
I thought it sounded a bit jazzy so added some jazz drums and the song built from there.
Lyrically it is fairly simple. I may scrap these lyrics, since they aren't my normal style, and use the music for something else.
I would like to do a longer version of this
with another verse and a longer intro. We shall see...
This is the first tune to feature Emma on trumpet. Hopefully it won't be the last.
Lyrics
Another Springtime
Another tortured season alone
And like my garden
my charm my fears are all overgrown
Pre Chorus 1
Regulus climbing in the evening sky
Love can be found in the blink of an eye
Extended glances from which you don't recoil
after all I just wanna be spoiled
Chorus
In your springtime of your worldly delights
A brand new Springtime
Another chance to get you alone
and as I near you
its like stepping into a world unbeknown
Pre Chorus 2
but if you spurn me now, It'll feel unjust
after all it is the season of lust
Its too warm for love to hibernate
after all I just want to bathe
