Lineage
Software Engineer by day. Occasionally, finds time to play some guitar into his computer. Even more rarely, actually finishes something.

Music has played a major part of his life, since getting a battery operated record player when very small (I think I was about 4 or 5). Being from a large family, there was an eclectic mix of music in the house, from his father's big band and country records, to various brothers and sisters being into punk, motown, jazz and everything in between.

Originally Chris wanted play the keyboards as a youngster, due to being heavily into Howard Jones and Duran Duran, but his brother Paul, got himself a keyboard so there went that idea. Paul then gave up keyboards and took up saxaphone.

Eventually, Chris started playing the guitar in 1986 after seeing Iron Maiden play at the Cornwall Coliseum (Somewhere in Time tour).

Bought a keyboard in 1990, whilst unemployed, with the intention of learning how to play, messed about with it for a couple of weeks, before getting a job and promptly moving off to University. Left it in a cupboard for about ten years then gave it away.

Spent half of the '90s at a couple of Universities in various grunge and metal bands (see below) and doing various courses, before moving to Shropshire which until recently didn't have much of a music scene (it is much healthier there now). Chris still has a very varied taste in music (think Abba to Anthrax + see above), which goes some way to to explaining The Hair Thieves genre hopping style. This could be seen as a bad thing, but at least it keeps it interesting.

Founder and driving force behind the Hair Thieves. Has been known to put the kettle on for a brew on occassion.

Oh and the name Rollasoc comes from the first 7 letters of his surname with his first initial at the end.
